Reston Town Center, Scout and Molly’s, and Banana Cream Pie!

Hello there! If we haven’t met you, we are Jane and Betsy Abraham, a mother-daughter team who are enjoying their very first business venture together.

Betsy had just finished college and I was looking for a way to slow down after a successful career, and take some time to enjoy myself. Both of us were in search of a change, but when a family member threw out the idea of starting a business, I laughed. Personally, I was looking to down-shift, not kick it into overdrive.

Nevertheless, the seed had been planted.

When a good friend suggested opening a franchise we began to scout our options. There were a multitude of choices; service companies, children’s programs, fitness programs and countless retail companies. None of them seemed right for one reason or another. That is, until we came across Scout and Molly’s boutique, and its founder, Lisa Kornstein Kaufman. We knew right away that we’d found the one.

We loved Lisa’s concept of a boutique that offered unmatched service in a cozy and comfortable setting. Giving off the vibe of shopping in your best friend’s closet - if your best friend was as fashionable as you wish you could be. Her vision is what impressed and continues to inspire us.

From day one, everyone at Reston Town Center has made us feel welcome. In fact, at midnight the night before we opened our doors in our permanent spot, the night manager at Ted’s Bulletin restaurant knocked on our door with huge pieces of banana cream pie as a welcome gift. It was the best darn pie we have ever tasted!

And it was a wonderful gesture of friendship.

Our goal is to offer our clients unique items and an experience that you won’t find in any other stores. We have clothes and accessories for every age and stage of life, for every body type and every pocket book. Being trendy doesn’t have to break the bank! However, there are some fabulous investment pieces we should all have in our closets. We feature American and International designers. We carry  graphic tees, intimates,  denim, business attire, fun tops and dresses and cocktail attire. And of course, we have the purses,  makeup, jewelry and shoes to complete every outfit!
