While the party won’t be complete without plenty of tea, scones and a bridal bouquet, a proper British dress code will add the right note of festivity and gravitas to the event. Here are three fashion ideas that will catapult your royal wedding viewing up to the next level.

Rule #1: Hats Off to Fascinators!

You’ll see a veritable garden of beautiful hats at the Royal Wedding, so why not jump on board? Make headgear a part of your party! Fascinators have been a popular trend on both sides of the pond since Kate Middleton began wearing them after marrying Prince William. Fascinators are often dressed up with feathers, rhinestones and other embellishments. We have plenty if fascinators available at our store in Reston Town Center.(we can ship) for more information call us at  (571) 526-4185

Rule #2: Dress for Success!

Modest is hottest when it comes to royal affairs. The queens and princesses you’ll be watching will likely be wearing  dresses- with a few of the more daring dressed in tasteful  pantsuits. Follow suit by choosing a chic, elegant dress to wear, one that accentuates your figure without giving away too much.

Wearing nude, rose or any pastel from head to toe is super in season. If you’re more of a print girl, go bold and keep the rest of your look neutral. Use your dress to showcase your hat and accessories.

Rule #3: Less is More

When choosing accessories for the viewing party, less is more. While the men at the wedding will be decked out in medals - military uniform being part of the official male dress code - the women will be more subdued when it comes to bling. A pearl necklace, some classic earrings and a brooch are in order.

And those are our three rules for making your wedding viewing party a fashion success. Add tea and scones and you and your gal pals will be ready to celebrate this royal event in style!
